SnapReminder Privacy Policy
SnapReminder finds dates and times in one image you share, select or take, and lets you confirm them before creating a reminder. YJ Studio does not operate an account system or a server that receives your photos, recognized text or reminders.
1. Information on your device
Text recognition and date parsing run on your device. Temporary copies of selected images stay in the app cache and are cleaned up when you reopen the app after they are more than a day old. Saved reminder titles, dates, notes and text stay in the app database. Keeping an original image is optional and off by default. If enabled, the image stays in the app's private storage. Language, reading script, notification and appearance preferences also stay on your device.
The developer cannot access this information. Android may include app data in a backup to your own Google account if you enable system backups; the developer cannot access that backup.
2. Advertising and privacy choices
The app displays Google AdMob ads on the home and reminder detail screens, occasional interstitial ads after saving reminders, and app-open ads on eligible foreground returns. Ads do not appear while you review an image, recognize text or edit a reminder. Google and its partners may process advertising identifiers, IP-based approximate location, device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostics to provide, measure and protect advertising. Photos, recognized text and reminder content are never passed to the advertising SDK.
Starting with version 1.1.0, Google's User Messaging Platform checks whether advertising requests are allowed and presents privacy messages or choices where required. When the SDK requires an entry point to change choices, Ad privacy choices appears in app settings. Changing the app language does not bypass these regional checks. You can also manage or delete the advertising ID in your device's privacy settings. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner apps.
3. Google ML Kit
Google ML Kit recognizes text on the device; it does not upload the image or recognition result. Its components may send device and app information, an installation identifier, performance metrics and error codes to Google for diagnostics and usage statistics. See ML Kit's data disclosure. The release app contains no separate developer analytics or crash-reporting service.
4. Permissions
- Notifications: to deliver reminders you save.
- Exact alarms: optional, for timely notifications. Without permission, Android may delay delivery.
- Boot completed: to restore scheduled notifications after restarting the device.
- Internet and network status: for advertising, consent messages and SDK communication.
- Vibration: to alert you when a notification arrives.
The app does not request full gallery access or camera permission. It receives one image from the system photo picker, a share action or your device's camera app. Google's advertising SDK adds advertising ID and AdServices permissions; these do not grant access to your photos or recognized text.
5. Deletion and retention
Deleting a reminder cancels its scheduled notifications and lets you choose whether to delete a kept image. Delete all data in settings removes reminders, schedules, kept images and preferences. Uninstalling the app removes its private local storage. Your device or Google account backup controls apply separately to system backups.
6. Children, protection and sharing
The app is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information. Photos, recognized text and reminder content are not shared with third parties. Local records and kept images use the app's private storage, and image or recognized-text content is not written to logs. Advertising and ML Kit data practices are described above.
7. Contact and changes
For privacy questions, contact YJ Studio at yjstudio.apps@gmail.com. Changes to this policy are announced on this page or the app's store listing, with an updated date.
