Privacy Policy — FixCode
2026-10-04
This policy describes privacy practices for FixCode by YJ Studio (Android: com.yjlab.fixcode).
1. Codes and local storage
Bundled, source-verified codes are searched offline in a Room database. The app stores up to 8 recent searches (code and brand/product filters), favorite codes and labels, and appliance name/brand/type/optional model on your device. DataStore saves the theme. There is currently no server, account or remote database update. Queries and appliance information are not sent to a developer server.
2. Advertising and external services
The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and User Messaging Platform. Release builds use app-specific production advertising IDs; development builds use Google demo IDs. Actual ad availability depends on Google app review and inventory. The SDK initializes and requests ads only when consent status permits requests; slots may stay empty when consent configuration cannot be established.
For advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, the SDK may collect/share device, ad and app-set identifiers, IP-based approximate location, app/ad interactions and performance diagnostics. SDK traffic is encrypted in transit and may be processed internationally. Google applies its retention/deletion rules. Measurements, conversion inputs, code queries and appliance names/models are not added to ad requests.
“Ad privacy choices” appears in settings when required. Android also lets you reset/delete your advertising ID, which does not stop every network or diagnostic process.
3. Permissions and sharing
Internet/network and ad ID are used by ad/consent SDKs. Camera, microphone, contacts, precise location and broad storage access are not requested. “Share” sends the code, explanation, checks, caution and official source to your selected app, under that provider’s policy. Appliance names/models are not automatically included.
4. Deletion and information scope
Clear recent searches on the search screen, remove favorites in code details and delete an appliance in its edit dialog. This app provides general meanings/basic checks and does not replace a qualified technician. Meanings may vary by model and country.
5. Retention, protection and deletion
Saved information remains in app-private device storage until deleted. There is no separate app-level encryption; use Android device protection such as a screen lock. App data is configured to be excluded from automatic cloud backup and device transfer. OS/manufacturer features remain subject to their provider policies.
Use Android Settings → Apps → this app → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall, to delete local data. In-app controls are described below. Local deletion does not erase Google's ad data or information already shared. We cannot remotely access local app data. You can edit/delete it on your device or contact us about rights under applicable law.
6. Contact, external links and children
If you email us, we process your email address and message for the time needed to answer and follow up, then delete unnecessary information unless legally required to retain it. Do not send card numbers, passwords or other sensitive information.
Opening official sources, policies or an email app applies the destination provider’s policy. Website visits may be handled under the GitHub Privacy Statement. The app is not designed for children under 14 and does not require registration.
7. Changes and contact
We update this page/date when functionality or processing changes and notify within the app when needed.
